I started thinking about this project a couple months ago, with the intention of create something that, through its own size, would sensitise this important contemporary topic, to which people usually remain indifferent. This work, inspired by the famous Picasso’s Guernica, wants to tell the situation that Afghanistan has lived for decades and that now is risking worsening. Reading the compositioin from the right, the big profile rappresents the world that looks indifferent at the Afghanistan’s situation. Next to it a red path, like the the red that in the afghan flag corrspond to the deads’ blood, leads to the Sun, that symbolize the peace. At the left a mosque stands with its two minarets. Over the building the shape of a White Horse alludes to a guide that will lead the Afghan people to peace. In the sky is seen a kite, symbol of Afghanistan and of freedom, a reminder to the book “The Kite Runner” by the famous writer Khaled Hosseini. Under it a woman’s profile with a veil Look with desire to a school desk, symbol of the right to education, in this moment questioned by the chaotic situation of the country.
